CASCADES LA ROCHETTE FSC CERTIFIED

Cascades La Rochette received the FSC certificate in February this year. So far, the mill only had certified PEFC and in order to follow the industry trade the FSC certification was achieved this year. From now on, the mill accepts "FSC Mixte Crédit" orders.

Other good news for its customers regarding Cascades La Rochette is that the mill has done a new investment on Board Machine 3 (BM3).

After a modernization in August last year of the manufacturing table used for forming the fibrous layer on the top, in December Cascades La Rochette installed a new head box "Allimand" latest generation for the fibrous top layer.

This investment focused 100% on quality improvement helps to optimize the sheet formation of the Top layer.

  • A better uniformity of the pulp, Machine Direction and Cross Direction helps to optimize the profile of the top pulp layer therefore having a direct impact on the smooth surface of the cartonboard.
  • The results obtained after the initial production are very encouraging, we noticed that the Bendtsen values (surface smoothness) are twice as good - 30 versus 60.
